Maldon Promenade Petting Zoo

The Maldon Promenade Petting Zoo has been part of Maldon's popular Promenade Park for the past five years.

During the day, it is home to over seventy species of animals where you are invited to meet the farm and exotic animals, the aviary dwellers, and the reptile collection.

The zoo is open 364 days a year, subject to weather and other conditions. Admission is adults £10.95, children £8.95, concessions £9.95 or £34.95 for a family of four with no need to book for general admission.

Visitors will enjoy meeting the lovely range of farm animals, from goats, donkeys, Shetland pony, alpacas, emu, ducks, chickens, rabbits to the one and only pot bellied pig Horace.

Meet a fantastic range of exotic animals such as armadillo, meerkats, skunks, mongoose, agouti, marmoset monkeys, raccoons and coatimundis.

Check out the fantastic aviaries where you can see parakeets and finches as well as some much smaller friends from sugar gliders, chipmunks, hamsters, guinea pigs and gerbils.

Feeling brave? Why not pay a visit to the reptile house. The Shepherds Tree Reptile House and Party Room is home to some lovely reptiles and visitors can enjoy meeting the 14 foot Burmese python, iguana, tortoises, tegu, corn snake, frogs, toads, bearded dragon, tarantulas and some creepy crawlies.
